A Desperate Plea to Time Travelers: Changing My Past to Save My Future
This blog post is my plea to the future—a message in a bottle sent out into the vast ocean of time. If you are reading this, you've likely stumbled upon the thoughts of a man named Avijit Guin. And, more importantly, I hope you possess the incredible power of time travel to the past.
I am the owner and writer of this blog. My name is Avijit Guin, and I was born in 1999. Life was going well for me until 2006, but then I made one bad decision of focusing more on studying than sports and making new friends like others and The consequences quickly began to affect various aspects of my life.
Since December 2010, my life has been filled with regrets because of the decision I made as a child.
Today is January 11, 2025, and the regret has only grown worse due to the snowball effects of that one small mistake.I am continuously suffering extreme physical and mental pain, and I know it will only increase in the future. After all, what I sow, I must reap.
For the last 15 years, I’ve tried everything I could think of to fix that one mistake, but it seems like the chain reaction of mistakes had already begun. Every attempt to fix it only brought new problems and led to more mistakes. The harder I tried, the more tangled my life became.
Now, I am losing hope. No matter what I do, it always feels like the wrong decision because I’ve already been on the wrong path since 2006. My life has become meaningless. It feels better to end my story than to keep playing a game I lost back in 2006.
I didn’t wanted to die, but at this point, it seems like the only way to escape the endless pain.I just can’t see how my life is worsening every second because of my one past mistake. I have lost my health, career, love—everything—all because of that one mistake. Every second, I think about how different my life could have been if I hadn’t made that choice. The regret is killing me, and it will continue to haunt me until my last breath.
Every night, I pray that I don’t wake up again. But unfortunately, I do wake up every day, and the suffering continues.
Before I leave this world, I want to share my story with others. I’m writing this as a final plea to anyone in the future who can travel back in time. If you have the power to change the past, I beg you to help me by guiding my younger self.
Here are the two most important messages I wish someone could give to my younger self in 2006:
Two Messages to My Younger Self (Avijit Guin, Nickname: Akash)
Follow Your Passions
Pursue your love for left-arm leg spin bowling with dedication. Train hard, practice relentlessly, and chase your dreams of becoming a great cricketer. At the same time, enroll in a nearby dance school. Having a second passion will bring you joy, improve your health, and give you a backup plan if cricket doesn’t work out as you hoped.Propose to Sucheta Chakrabarty (Raya)
Propose to Raya as soon as possible. If you don’t, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
How to Find Young Avijit (Akash) in 2006, November 1
